Privacy Policy
Summary of recent changes (May 8, 2026): the early tester signup form no longer uses Google reCAPTCHA. We now rely on a hidden honeypot field, email-deduplication, and per-IP rate limiting to prevent automated abuse. We also added an optional "watch model" field for compatibility tracking, and removed the optional marketing-list opt-in from the tester form.
This Privacy Policy describes how HATA MANAGEMENT CONSULTING OFFICE ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of WabiFace, handles information in connection with our watch face applications for Wear OS (the "Apps") and the website wabiface.jp (the "Site").
1. Information We Do Not Collect From the Apps
The WabiFace Apps do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information from your watch or paired phone. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or contact list
- Your location (GPS, coarse, or otherwise)
- Your health, fitness, or biometric data
- Photos, files, or any other media
- Device identifiers such as IMEI, MAC address, or advertising ID
- Usage analytics or crash reports
The Apps run entirely on your device and do not communicate with any server we operate.
2. Information from Wear OS Complications
If you assign a complication (e.g., weather, battery, steps) to a WabiFace face, that data is delivered to the watch face by the Wear OS complication system on your device. We only receive the value needed to display it (such as the temperature number). This data is rendered on screen and is not stored, logged, or transmitted by the Apps.
3. Google Play Billing
Purchases of the Apps are processed by Google Play. We do not receive your payment information. Google Play's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
4. Early Tester Signup Form (/sakura-free/)
When you submit the form at /sakura-free/ to receive a free Google Play promo code as part of the WabiFace Sakura early tester program, we collect and process the following information:
- Email address — used to deliver the promo code and redemption instructions (in addition to displaying the code on screen).
- Watch model (optional) — if provided, used to understand which devices our testers are on, and to investigate compatibility issues.
- IP address and browser User-Agent — used for fraud prevention and to enforce a per-IP rate limit (up to 3 attempts per hour) and one-code-per-person.
- UTM parameters from your referring URL (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content) — used to measure which channels drive sign-ups.
- Timestamp — used to detect automated abuse and to prune logs after 90 days.
Retention:
- Email addresses of users who received a code: retained to prevent duplicate claims. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 10).
- IP address, User-Agent, UTM parameters, watch model, and access logs: retained for up to 90 days, then deleted.
- Per-IP rate-limit records: retained for up to 24 hours.
- If no code was available at the time of submission, no email or other personal data is stored.
Lawful basis (GDPR, EU/UK users): Consent under Art. 6(1)(a). For fraud prevention logs, our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) also applies.
Lawful basis (APPI, Japan users): 利用目的の特定および明示の上、ご本人の同意を得て取得・利用しています（個人情報保護法 17 条・21 条）。
We never sell, rent, or share your email or other personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Third-Party Services
- Google Play — handles all app distribution and purchases. See above.
- Email delivery — promo code emails are sent via the mail server of our hosting provider in Japan. No third-party email marketing service (e.g., Mailchimp, SendGrid) is currently used.
The early tester form does not use Google reCAPTCHA, Google Analytics, Google Ads, or any third-party tracking pixels. Bot prevention is handled in-house via a hidden honeypot field, email-deduplication, and per-IP rate limiting.
6. International Transfers
Personal data we collect through the early tester form is stored on hosting infrastructure located in Japan. We do not transfer your personal data outside Japan unless required by law.
7. Cookies
The Site uses only essential cookies required for basic operation. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. If we ever introduce analytics or advertising tags in the future, a cookie consent banner will be shown and analytics/ads will default to denied under Google Consent Mode v2 until you opt in.
8. Age Restriction & Children's Privacy
The early tester signup form is intended for adults using their own Wear OS smartwatch. The Apps and Site are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, please contact us at support@wabiface.jp and we will delete it.
9. Security
Email addresses and access logs are stored on a hosting environment with access restricted to the operator. Files are protected by server-level access controls and are not publicly accessible. We make reasonable efforts to safeguard your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Your Rights
You may request the following at any time by emailing support@wabiface.jp:
- Access — receive a copy of personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — have your email and associated records deleted from our systems.
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time (does not affect lawfulness of prior processing).
- Lodge a complaint — EU/UK users may complain to their local data protection authority. Japan users may contact the Personal Information Protection Commission (個人情報保護委員会).
We will respond to verified requests within 14 days.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes that affect how we use your personal information will be announced on this page. If you have opted in to marketing communications, we will also notify you by email of significant updates that affect your rights.
12. Disclosure About AI-Assisted Artwork
The watch face artwork, illustrations, and related visual elements published in the WabiFace Apps and on this Site are generated with the assistance of generative AI tools. The developer reviews, curates, edits, composes, and integrates the generated material into the final product. No personal data, user-submitted content, or copyrighted reference material is uploaded to AI services for this process.
This disclosure is provided in line with the spirit of upcoming AI transparency requirements (e.g., the EU AI Act) and to help users make informed decisions.

Pixel Watch and Wear OS are trademarks of Google LLC. Galaxy Watch is a trademark of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Use of these names in our documentation is purely descriptive and does not imply endorsement.
